Black interior life has been the source code for creative output for generations of artists across disciplines. Parallel to the tangible elements of our home lives that align and overlap, is the collective imagination of what lies beyond any conceived built environment. A space expansive and intricately cultivated outside the scope of public consumption. It is there that I find these artists situated – at the intersection of the sublime and the mundane, craft and connoisseurship, ruminating on the spaces that shaped their aesthetic identities and fashioning new realities.
